A Literary Element section closes the After Reading 1 portion of the Chapter.

If the reading is expository or non-fiction, this section is called Text Element.

Focus is on one of the Text Genre’s features which was taught before the Reading. Instruction is followed by a sample activity. Students are then asked to apply what they have just learned by re-examining the reading.
