The Milestones California Student Edition is the core of the program.

Each book and its wealth of accompanying materials are color-coded for easy reference. Book A and its components have red covers, Book B, green and Book C, purple.

Each book is organized in exactly the same way, so that both teacher and student quickly become accustomed to using the material efficiently and effectively.

There are six Units consisting of two Chapters. Each Chapter contains two readings: one literary and one content -based.

At the end of each Unit, the Apply and Extend section provides Workshops, Projects and Independent Reading in which students “apply and extend” their learning.

Culminating the Unit is an a Assessment tool, Milestones to Achievement, where students can self-evaluate their mastery of the Unit content.
