Next is another section dedicated to Academic Vocabulary.

In this case, two new academic vocabulary words are presented, using the same visual charting technique: the word, its explanation or definition, a sample sentence and a visual cue.

These academically important words will be used to complete the Reading Comprehension Questions in the following section.

It is important to note that this vocabulary is practiced orally and in writing. Research shows that learners need facility with this type of vocabulary in order to be successful in their mainstream class work.
