Meet the Author is a short introduction to the author of the reading.

Many of the authors featured in Milestones have a multi-cultural background and are speakers of languages other than English.

These authors can serve as an inspiration and model of the author’s craft.

A very significant final preparatory step before starting the reading is found in the Reading Focus Questions.

Here students are asked questions that they will think about as they move through the reading.

At the end of the reading, these focus questions will be revisited and discussed in the Reading Comprehension Questions.
