The culminating Writing Assignment for the Chapter Part B section is more extensive than the Writing found at the end of Chapter A.

A Writing Strategy and Student Model are featured here as well.

Students have already written an informal letter in Unit 1; they now build on their skills with a more complex letter-writing assignment.

The writing process steps include brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing and publishing.

Note the use of graphic organizers-a two column chart in this example-to aid students in the process.
