First the class is using a combination of partner reading and echo reading. This allows stronger readers to model for weaker readers.

You may also have each student read alternating paragraphs, for another variation of “partner reading.”

In the second section of the video, students create a Readers Theatre. This allows for repeated readings, increased reading fluency and reading with expression and emotion.

You may wish to differentiate the task by assigning some students to create a script and dramatize the entire story My Korean Name as a play.
