At the bottom of the right hand page, you will find two "Connection" boxes. These contain instructional information and activities for your use.

In this example, the Language Arts Connection relates to the concept of compound words.

In other Units and Chapters, this section may contain a Social Studies Connection, a Math or Science Connection, Technology Connection, Community Connection or a Home Connection, or other activities to connect the Unit theme and Chapter content to the students' lives beyond the classroom.

The second box here is the Cultural Connection. You will find notes throughout the Milestones Introductory California Teacher's Editions to ensure you are providing culturally responsive instruction.

At the bottom of each page, you will find a reference to the California English-Language Arts Standards which are taught on this page. A complete Standards Correlation is found in the back of the Milestones Introductory Student Edition.
