For Units 1 - 7, the Milestones Introductory California Teacher's Edition follows the organization of the Student Edition page content. The Objectives provide a standards-based road map to what is going to be accomplished in the Chapter and you are provided with specific notes on how to teach this section.

These Objectives are the expected outcomes for the Chapter. You may want to make these available for daily student reference by posting on the board.

The important Informal and Formal Pre-Assessment are provided, so that you can confirm class and individual needs.

Note that a Reading Fluency activity is incorporated into the instruction on every appropriate page in Units 1-7. In this example, Echo Reading is used for the Vocabulary section.

This daily reading fluency practice is an effective and efficient way to build fluency in reading.

At the bottom of each page, you will find a reference to the California English-Language Arts Standards which are taught on this page.

A complete Standards Correlation is found in the back matter of the California Teacher's Edition.
