Overview

Crews/Norton's MJ APPAREL SIMULATION is a business community simulation based on Mean Jeans by Marie Weeks. The simulation breaks down authentic business practices into unit concepts and objectives. It then applies these skills in an interactive and engaging digital environment that provides students with a realistic, hands-on educational experience that will prepare them for careers in business and success in a free market economy. The simulation covers business practices and community collaborations over the month of July. MJ APPAREL SIMULATION is versatile in that it can be bundled with all NGL business titles, aligning to objectives in all of the business books. It is also eligible for Perkins V funding to support work-based learning opportunities. It is collaborative and adaptable to the middle and high school business classrooms and even other grade levels. Upon completion of the activities and assessments in this MindTap simulation, it is expected that students will be able to: • Distinguish between types of business ownership in a free market economy. • Describe the interrelationships between businesses within a community. • Identify a company’s obligations to customers and business affiliates. • Explain the importance of good human relations. • Explain the need for accuracy in work-related tasks in a business environment. • Adjust to work pressures and changing work demands. • Execute effective individual and group decisions. • Explain the consequences of good and poor decisions. • Utilize reference sources to effectively complete tasks. • Explain necessary business tasks related to various departments within a business.
