Limited Radiography

Helping students focus on the most important concepts, each chapter begins by explaining how the content correlates to the Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography Examination administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists® (ARRT).

Each radiographic anatomy and positioning chapter includes positions and projections listed in the ARRT® Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography Examination specifications implemented in January 2015. Each examination includes detailed positioning and patient care directions as well as a photograph of a patient being positioned, an anatomical illustration, and a radiograph.

Five new chapters introduce students to radiographic anatomy and provide step-by-step procedures for radiographic positioning -- including images. These new chapters include Radiographic Anatomy and Positioning of the Chest and Abdomen; Upper Extremity; Lower Extremity; Spine; and Skull, Facial Bones, and Paranasal Sinuses.

Reflecting the latest developments from the field, all chapters have been updated to include the most current information. Thoroughly revised, the Imaging Equipment chapter reflects equipment and accessories now in common use in medical facilities, while the expanded Digital Radiography and Picture Archiving and Communication Systems (PACS) chapter includes additional information relating to the practical application of digital radiography knowledge.

An all-new full-color text design and the addition of more than 400 images equip students with the high-quality visuals they need to thoroughly understand chapter content.

The information within the former Pathology chapter has been integrated within the radiographic anatomy and positioning chapters to improve student understanding of the pathology on selecting radiographic exposure factors and adapting basic positioning routines.
