These high-interest trade books have been selected based on their relationship to the Unit theme and their appropriateness for the Milestones student.

Many come from state and district recommended reading lists.

A short annotation is included. You may wish to share this list with your school or community librarian so that your students will have ready access.

Note that a cross-reference to the Heinle Reading Library appears on this page. A specially-adapted version of a literary classic or a biography has been selected to match the Unit theme. This allows you to have the entire class read the same book—a valuable activity to strengthen reading skills.
