Each Milestones Introductory Florida Student Edition Unit opens with a Preview the Unit.

The Preview the Unit contains preparatory sections: Preteach and Prepare and View the Picture. Focus is on elements forthcoming in the Unit.

The photos found on these pages are exploited to aid students in relating to and understanding what will follow. Specific suggestions for this are found in the teacher notes on both pages.

Note the correlations to the Reading and Language Arts Sunshine State Standards and English Language Proficiency Standards found at the bottom of each page. This clearly spells out the standards being taught here.

The bottom left page throughout the Milestones Introductory Florida Teacher’s Edition contains a box titled Differentiated Instruction. In this case, the Talk about the Theme section, which appears on the following page, is scaffolded for universal access.
