It is important that students know where they are going. At the opening of each Chapter, you will find a concise listing of the Objectives of the Chapter.

State standards of instruction and learning are explicitly represented here. Note the reference to the Reading and Language Arts Sunshine State Standards and English Language Proficiency Standards found at the bottom of the page. The Objectives should be posted on the board during the course of the Chapter.

The Academic Vocabulary to be learned is highlighted, as well.
