At the end of each of the Units 1 through 7, you will find the Apply & Extend section. This section requires students to apply what they have learned throughout the units up to this point.

The Objectives are clearly presented, as well as a reference to the Reading and Language Arts Sunshine State Standards and English Language Proficiency Standards correlation found in the back of the Milestones Introductory Florida Student Edition.

First is a Listening and Speaking Workshop. The heading always indicates the expectations and outcomes for the workshop. In this example, the students practice orally paraphrasing a story.

The topic is clearly presented in a box. It is followed by step-by-step student instructions to complete the workshop.

A Speaking Self-Evaluation and Active Listening Evaluation follow, guiding students' active engagement throughout the workshop.
