Let's examine the Chapters in Unit 3 of the Milestones Introductory Florida Student Edition.

Each Chapter opens with an Objectives list on the left-hand side of the page.

These are each correlated to the Reading and Language Arts Sunshine State Standards and English Language Proficiency Standards.

The standards are found in the back of the Milestones Introductory Florida Student Edition beginning on page. 529.

You will want to write the Objectives on the board as an organizer and road map to learning.

After the Objectives, new Vocabulary is introduced pictorially, orally, and in written form.

Students have ample opportunity to practice hearing and saying the new vocabulary, working from controlled to open-ended activities.
