Once you have completed working with the Preview the Unit pages, your students will be ready to begin Chapter 1.

The Objectives provide a road map to what is going to be accomplished in the Chapter.

These are the expected standards-based outcomes for the Chapter.

You will want to make these available for daily reference, by posting on the board.

Also significant are the clear boxed presentation of the Academic Vocabulary and Academic Content which will be learned in the Chapter.

The importance of the Chapter Focus Question is also highlighted at this point.
