These are words whose meanings relate to the central ideas of the selection.

Students will be able to comprehend the reading better by learning the meaning of these vocabulary words.

This vocabulary consists of words which students will "take away" with them.

These words will be encountered in other settings and are to be learned, practiced and used independently throughout the lesson and in their lives.
