A Writing Assignment follows. It is important to note that this Writing Assignment is designed to build students' skills toward the Writing Workshop which comes at the end of the Unit.

Students write an original text related to one or both of the chapter readings.

The sub-head indicates the writing genre and the specific assignment: here it is "Descriptive Writing: Write a Paragraph About a Place."

Note that the Writing Prompt in this Chapter builds on the reading strategy of visualization which was taught in Reading 1.

Students are reminded to make use of the Milestones Student Handbook found in the back of the Student Edition.
