Originally from Taiwan, lead author Marisa Fang graduated from Fu Jen University. She then received her M.S. d egree in New York. Marisa has enjoyed a successful career in teaching ESL and Chinese to students from elementary through university for more than 20 years. Although she retired in 2013, she continues to be active in the teaching community as a lecturer and teacher trainer in the U.S. and China. Marisa currently serves as a Board Director of Chinese Language Teachers Association of Greater New York (CLTA-GNY) and Guest Teacher Adviser to the College Board.

Helen Jung
Helen Jung received her B. Ed. from University of Wolverhampton, U.K. and her M.A. from SUNY at Stony Brook, U.S. She began her teaching career in Hong Kong and currently teaches Chinese in the Plainview-Old Bethpage public schools in New York. With 28 years of experience working with young children, Helen is well-versed in stimulating students’ interest in Chinese learning. She takes great pleasure in creating innovative lessons that integrate technology with language learning to inspire and challenge her students.

Rosemary Firestein
Rosemary Firestein’s passion for the Chinese language and culture took off as soon as she began her Chinese studies. Her undergraduate studies include two years as an exchange student at Nankai University i n Tianjin, China. She received her B.A. in Asian Studies and M. ED from Temple University and Temple Graduate School. Rosemary’s teaching career began in the Philadelphia public schools where she taught Chinese and ESL for 13 years. She currently teaches Chinese in the Plainview-Old Bethpage School District public schools in New York. She has been dedicated to sharing her love for the Chinese language with her students there since 1998.
