Life Around The World: July Contest

Reading Time: 2 minutes

Welcome to another month of the Life Around the World Contest!

Last month’s photo shows rowers taking part in the 42nd annual Vogalonga in Venice, Italy. The Vogalonga is a famous non-competitive regatta that started in 1974 as a protest against motorboats. Its 30 km route goes through many picturesque parts of the city.

As a reminder, here are the details about the contest:

Each month, we will release a photo from a cover of Life Second Edition on the In Focus Blog.

We want you to submit your best guess of where in the world this photo was taken. Try to tell us as much as you can about the photo!

Please submit your best guess in the comments section below.

The first person who guesses correctly will win a National Geographic prize and a student book from the second edition of Life! Each month we will reveal the previous month’s photo location on the In Focus blog.

Here is this month’s photo from the Intermediate level of Life Second Edition (British English). Do you know where this photo was taken and what is going on in it? Please use the comment section below to submit your best guess!

  1. This beautiful photo seems me in a place where the people do not hurry and the life goes slower than a in some big city in the world.
I noticed that red car is old like some 50´s model.
For those reasons I guess that photo whas taken in Havana, Cuba.

  2. Hello! I think the photo is taken somewhere in New Jersey. A quiet evening, people are going home from work admiring the beautiful sunset.
